Oktoberfest, an arts and crafts festival with food and craft beers from all over Arkansas, is happening in downtown Texarkana on Saturday, Nov. 14.

Texarkana Friends of the Shelter is hosting the event at Front Street Festival Plaza. The purpose of the event is to raise money for the Animal Care and Adoption Center, our local animal shelter in Texarkana.

Did you know that Arkansas is known for its great craft beers and local breweries? This will be a great opportunity to sample some of the best craft beers from local breweries.

Not only will there be a beer garden to sample an array of samples, you can also purchase full sized beer beverages from many of the unique breweries of Arkansas.

The festival will be full of other awesome arts and crafts vendors as well as delicious foods from across the Four States along with plenty of entertainment throughout the day.

The event kicks off with the timed Pork Chop 5K as well as a one mile Family Fun Run and Dog Walk. The Front Street stage will feature many local singers, artists and dancers from the Ark-La-Tex, as well as a fun contest. Wrapping up the day will be Texarkana favorite, Greg Gardner, performing some of his best country hits.
