Florida Rockers Nova Rex bring thier rocking show to the Fat Jack's stage Saturday night,

The band Nova Rex was born in Florida in 1985. After being one of the biggest premier acts at the time, the band put its talent in the studio to record its self-titled CD "Nova Rex", featuring the hit single "Turn it Up (Loud)".

In 87, the band headed to the rock capital of the world Hollywood, CA. Shortly after arriving, the Rex boys' style attracted them a major management deal and they were pursued by many labels. The band rerecorded “Turn it up(loud) with the new hit single “Bring the house down”. They were feeling good with their progression when suddenly, the grunge movement was on. That’s when Kenny Wilkerson, the bass player for Rex, went home to IN for the holidays. On a whim, he took the NR music to local radio stations with the ballad “Think of me” and the phones blew up! By the end of his holiday, the song was being played in heavy rotation.
With the LA scene coming to an end, the Rex boys went into the studio in 92 to cut their next release “Blow me away” and headed to Indy dressed in leather and a vengeance. The release received numerous awards and brought the band widespread notoriety. In May of 94 the band released “Ain't Easy Being Cheesy” which was surrounded by major media blitz. In 1996 Nova Rex brought in producer Mark Wolfson for the “Violent America” CD. In 1999, the band made an intense Nine Inch Nails vibe record called “New Kings", featuring the single “Seven”. It was released nationally by Quantum Records & went for radio with bands like Push Monkey, Buck Cherry and Lit.
Now 10 years later and with the fans support Nova Rex will rise again by releasing their “Greatest Hits” CD rockin' 15 classic tracks from there first 5 albums and their signature style new hit “Break Away” Available on Quantum Records.
