National Library Week is as good a time as any to discover or maybe  rediscover the Texarkana Library.The Texarkana Library is located at 600 West Third Street in Texarkana, Texas. The library is open Monday Thru Thursday from  9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Friday and Saturday from 9:00 am to 5:oo p.m.

All residents who live in Texarkana, Arkansas or Texarkana, Texas and are 4 years of age or older may receive a free library card. Residents who live within a 50 mile radius can purchase a card at a minimal cost.

The library has internet access and wireless access. A wealth of books and resources are available. The Friends of the Library is a not for profit organization that was founded back in 1981 and is available for you to join.The purpose of the group is to spur interest in the Texarkana Library as well as to purchase library materials and to support library programs.

On its website the Library credits the YWCA as having started a collection of books back in the early 1900′s and that the Texarkana Library was established in 1925. It moved to its current location on West Third Street in 1980.

Your invited to promote a child’s interest in reading and adventure by taking them to the library.
