Authorities say a missing 97-year-old man has been found safe after he turned up missing yesterday, October 8, in the Daingerfield area of Morris County in Northeast Texas. The Morris County Sheriff's Office says Clyde Hugh Floyd was found in good condition on his property shortly after midnight this morning by the Bowie County Search and Rescue team.

A search involving several area public safety agencies was conducted in a large wooded area near the missing man's home.  At approximately 12:30 this morning, the Bowie County Search and Rescue Team, led by Jason Spivey, located the victim in good health and good spirits, deep in a thick, heavily wooded area.

Agencies assisting the Morris County Sheriff’s Office in the search were Daingerfield Fire and Rescue, the Telford Unit Prison Canine Team, the Bowie County Search and Rescue Team, and members of the Jenkins Fire Department.

The sheriff's office had requested assistance late yesterday in locating the missing resident.

Floyd was reported missing yesterday by family members. Authorities were told that he was last seen at approximately 10AM yesterday at his residence on County Road 2110, just off of Hwy 11 near Dangerfield State Park.
Family members noticed that his tractor was missing from the property yesterday morning when they came to check on him. The tractor was found abandoned near his home in the woods at approximately 5PM.
Due to his advanced age, Floyd was considered to be an "endangered" missing person.  However, the circumstances did not meet the state requirements for issuing a Silver Alert.  They then requested any available assistance of the Four States Regional Amber Alert Plan.
