Men buy their wives and girlfriends gifts on Valentine's Day because they love them, but a new study in the Boston Business Journal says that WHAT they buy is influenced less by love -- and more by fear.

Men are terrified because they are afraid that their gift will be rejected which translates to men that they are rejected as well.  According to the study, men will often go with something safe like jewelry because it's a surefire winner rather than picking something out that is more personal or creative.  For women, the safe gift can also say LAZY or that he procrastinated shopping until the absolute last minute.  The pressure is on.
