Mattel to Make Bald and Beautiful Barbies

We think this is one of the coolest things we have heard in a good long while. Cheers to the folks at Mattel, they are going to start manufacturing a bald barbie doll for little girls loosing their hair from chemo-therapy, or alopecia, and other conditions that cause hair loss.

Facebook

You won’t be able to find the dolls in stores, as they will be sent straight to Children’s Hospitals and to the National Alopecia Areata Foundation.

One of the neatest parts about this story is that a Facebook Group is what gave Mattel the idea to make the dolls. The group is called “Beautiful and Bald Barbie! Let’s see if we can get it made.”
