So far, 2013 has been tag poppin' awesome for Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, thanks to their hit "Thrift Shop," which has now set a sales record.  According to Sources the song has sold a whopping 4.178 million copies during the first quarter of the year. That's more than any song has ever sold in the first quarter of a calendar year in digital history.  It also blows away the old record, set last year by "We Are Young" by fun., which sold 2.75 million copies in the first quarter.

In addition "Thrift Shop" has now notched a sixth week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, the longest run by a musical duo since 2011, when LMFAO's "Party Rock Anthem" spent six weeks on top.

Here's another interesting tidbit about "Thrift Shop."  It's been #1 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs for a 12th week.  That's the longest run on that particular chart by a white artist since the chart started all the way back in 1942.
