This is a great story for anyone that has ever experienced the unconditional love and devotion of a dog. This dog is so loyal to his owner, that he has continued to go to mass at the church where her funeral was held months ago. Read the details.

Ciccio, a 12-year-old German Shepherd, was adopted as a stray by Maria Margherita Lochi of San Donaci, Italy. He repaid her kindness by being a well-behaved pet, so much so that Lochi could bring him to Mass with her every morning and he wouldn't disturb the rest of parishioners.

A couple months ago Lochi died, and they held her funeral at the Santa Maria Assunta church that she regularly attended with Ciccio. The dog sat, and patiently watched the service and followed Lochi's coffin around the church.

"I've not heard one bark from him in all the time he has been coming in," Father Donato Panna explained. "He waits patiently by the side of the altar and just sits there quietly. I didn't have the heart to throw him out -- I've just recently lost my own dog, so I leave him there until Mass finishes and then I let him out."

Ciccio's display of loyalty has definitely moved the faithful, and the local townspeople have ALL adopted Ciccio.

(You may remember a similar display of undying loyalty... Watch this video of a dog who won't leave the side of his Navy Seals owner's casket.)

(I recently lost my best good friend of 13 years, Cletus. I put together a video for him...)
