Have you lost your dog? Here are some of the newest arrivals to the shelter. They are in the stray hold area as of Monday, October 10, 2016.

The videos below have the necessary identification numbers to reclaim your dog.

These dogs have been at the shelter for a bit. The Chow needs a professional groomer to volunteer some time to get him back to good-looking shape.

The Animal Care and Adoption Center is our only animal shelter in town. The shelter is located at 203 Harrison St., Texarkana, Ark. 71854 and is open Monday through Friday from 11AM and 5PM and Saturdays from 11AM to 2PM. For more information please call the shelter at 870-773-6388.

If you are missing a dog or cat, it is always a good idea to check the animal shelter in Texarkana daily to make sure your missing animal hasn't been picked up by animal control or taken to the shelter by a citizen. The animal shelter in Texarkana, Ark., like most other open admission shelters, often faces issues of not having enough space for all of the new arrivals. It is not fair to the animals so we must get their faces out so people can hopefully adopt these babies before it is too late.

Some of these dogs are waiting for their owners to find them. Others do not have a chance of anyone coming for them. What options do they have? Adopt a pet from the shelter. Or, if you see a dog that you would like to foster, find a rescue group to pull the dog. Check here for a list of the rescues. Other options for helping these dogs is to share these videos and photos on your social media pages so others will see them.

The shelter's Facebook page has updates of new animals arriving. The adoption fees range from $40 to $144, depending on the gender and size of the animal or whether they have been spayed or neutered yet. You can also have your pet microchipped for only $20 right at the shelter. That way if your pet is ever lost, he or she can be returned to you quickly.
