Local Teacher Chosen as Regional Finalist

Mrs. Peggy Mills, a kindergarten teacher at Trice Visual and Performing Arts Magnet School has been chosen as an Arkansas Teacher of the Year regional finalist.The Texarkana Arkansas School District says Mrs. Mills has been a kindergarten teacher in the district for 37 years. Mrs. Mills graduated from East Texas State University in 1975.

She will receive a $1,000 cash award and will attend the ceremony on November 28th at the Arkansas State Capitol to receive her award at which time the Arkansas Teacher of the Year will be announced.
