If you are like many people in the Ark-La-Tex who would like to do something to help the families affected by Hurricane Harvey, we got word today that David Alvis, owner of Silver Star Restaurants in Texarkana and Bossier City, LA., is setting up semi-trucks to be filled with donations and delivered to the hurricane ravaged areas.

Here's what you can do to help. Please drop off the following items to Silver Star in Texarkana located at 5205 West Park Drive or use the corner of University at I-30.  The truck should be on location later this afternoon (8/30) just look for a sign that says, "Hurricane Harvey Supply Drop Off."

Collecting:

  • Diapers
  • Wipes
  • Baby food
  • Baby formula
  • Bottled water
  • Dry goods
  • Canned goods
  • Batteries
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Dog and cat food
  • Feminine products
  • Hygiene products
  • Snack items

Once the the truck is loaded Daryl Livingston with Livingston Trucking will drive it personally to Silver Star where both trucks will be transported once full. All donations are going to the American Red Cross for distribution to Hurricane relief victims in need.

Harvest Texarkana Regional Food Bank will also be adding a truck to fill-up at Silver Star Texarkana location.
