Texarkana area residents have an unprecedented opportunity to participate in a historic study involving cancerBoth men and women between the ages of 30 and 65 who have never been diagnosed with cancer are needed to participate in the American Cancer Society's Cancer Prevention Study-3. CPS-3 will enroll a diverse population of 300,000 people across the United States and Puerto Rico.

The Christus St.Michael W. Temple Webber Cancer Center is partnering with the American Cancer Society to serve as an enrollment site to allow local residents an opportunity to participate in the study.

Enrollment in the Texarkana region will be held on Tuesday, August 27 from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. and on Wednesday, August 28 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Christus St. Michael Health System in the North Conference Room located at 2600 St. Michael Drive.

Eligible participants are asked to book an appointment to enroll by going to CancerStudyTX.org or calling 1-888-604-5888. After scheduling an appointment, participants will receive a comprehensive baseline survey to  complete online at home before coming to the enrollment. The in-person enrollment process takes between 25 to 30 minutes to complete.
