Lee Starr is a Singer/Songwriter from Texarkana, Arkansas who began playing drums and guitar at the age of 12. First attracted by the sound of Stevie Ray Vaughan's Texas style blues, he drew strong influences from bluesy style guitar playing. After several years of playing lead guitar and his first tenures with local bands, he tempered his guitar playing with more subtle acoustic melodies, drawing from singer/songwriters such as Robert Earl Keen, Guy Clark, Willie Nelson, James Taylor and other notable musicians spanning the decades. Now 22 years old, his songwriting is maturing by the day and mixes a country aesthetic with and simplistic and "old school" mentality to create a roots based melodic sound with a strong lyrical backbone. He began his solo act early this year and is gaining steam in Arkansas, Louisiana and Texas.

Check out the great food at Hopkins Icehouse, like the 'Hot Chick' pizza with Gorgonzola cream sauce topped with chicken, mozzarella, and drizzled with hot sauce. Or if you are a sandwich lover try the 'Hawaiian' sandwich with smoked turkey, ham, smoked provolone, red onion, cucumber with a pineapple jalapeno mayo, panini style on a hoagie roll.

Hopkins Icehouse is located downtown Texarkana at 3rd and Wood.
