Matt Kenseth took the lead from his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Kyle Busch on lap 355 of 367, and took off to get the checkered flag and the win in the Bojangles' Southern 500 NASCAR race at Darlington.

Kyle Busch was the dominate car of the night, leading most of the race, but in the end it was Matt Kenseth. This was a huge weekend for Joe Gibbs Racing. JGR got a 1-2-3 finish in the Nationwide Series Friday night, and a 1-2 finish Saturday with Matt in first, and Denny Hamlin finishing the race second... which is HUGE, with him coming off that severe spinal injury he got in the crash at Fontana back in March.

Of course with it being mothers day weekend, we have to mention the moms. For the race Saturday night the NASCAR Sprint Cup moms were the grand marshals, and had a little bit of a rough start of their own in giving the command to start the engines...

Next up it's the Sprint Cup All Star Race at Charlotte Motor Speedway. It's a total of 90 laps. There are four 20 lap segments, and a 10 lap shoot-out at the end.The All Star Race is made up of drivers that have won a race in 2012 or 2013, any former All Star winners, any former Cup Champions (from the last 10 years) and the top two finishers of the Sprint Cup Open that will run before the All Star Race. Television coverage is Saturday May 18, beginning at 6:00 p.m. (Central). Saturday night racing under the lights... not for points, just glory. I am really expecting an exciting race, especially after all of the green flag racing at Darlington.

After a couple of adjustments to the points by NASCAR, here's where we are now...
