The 47th Annual Jonquil Festival begins this Friday featuring the beautiful yellow flowers all over the town of Washington, Ark. during this first weekend of Spring.

Beginning Friday, March 20 through Sunday, March 22 visitors will travel from far away places and from local towns to embark on a weekend of festivities at Historic Washington State Park in Washington, Ark. This three-day festival marks the official arrival of Spring in Southwest Arkansas as it actually hits on the first weekend of Spring.

Thousands of beautiful jonquils welcome craftspeople, entertainers and visitors to this festival in Historic Washington. Unique crafts and delicious foods are just part of the attractions from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, then again from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Tours of the park, historic homes and museums are available at regular price.  Admission to the festival is free. Parking is $5.

This festival was once a favorite for my mom and I to do lots of shopping of great woodwork and other trinkets. We enjoyed walking through the old buildings too. The old courthouse was always one of my favorites because I dreamed of becoming an attorney when I was a kid.
