Texarkana's community Mardi Gras celebration is scheduled for Saturday March 1 in downtown Texarkana with parades, vendors and live music including headliner Jo-el Sonnier. Here are all of the details you need to know.

The theme for this years parades is "Super Heroes and Marvels".

Per the Front Street Facebook Page the parade times are a little loose but we are posting the intended schedule that was released to us.

PARADES

(PARENTS, PLEASE KEEP A CLOSE EYE ON THE LITTLE ONES ALONG PARADE ROUTE)

Paws & Rascals - The parade for our furry friends starts at 3:30 and should run til 4 p.m.

The Motorcade - The motorcade will begin at 4:00 p.m. and will end between 4:30 p.m.

The Grand Parade -  The Grand Parade is scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. and should wrap up a little after 5:00 p.m. (It may take longer depending on entries.)

JO-EL SONNIER CONCERT

Jo-el Sonnier, the King of Cajun Music, is scheduled to take the stage 15 minutes after the last float of the Grand Parade leaves Front Street. The concert is free for all, and should last between an hour and fifteen minutes to an hour and a half.

Yes, the concert will begin before the end of the Grand Parade, but those that are up near the post office are encouraged to make their way to front street plaza and join the celebration.

Vendors on Front Street Plaza will open at 2:00 p.m. and remain open until the end of the concert.
