Jesus Camp Texarkana — A Place For Hope and Home
Camp Jesus Texarkana is a very small community of individuals that have fallen on hard times and found themselves in need of a place to call home. Joe Narens owns the property. He didn't create the camp for the people, the people created the need for the camp. There is no government funding, no grants coming from the state, just a man with a big heart and a group of folks that happened to land on his property.
What would you do if you found 'homeless people' living on your property? Would you send them packing or would you try to help? Joe is a helper. You can be a helper too! Each Sunday Joe takes pizza to the camp. You can sponsor a Sunday lunch. The cost is approximately $30. Click here to send a message to Joe if you would like to help.
Some of Texarkana's homeless souls have a safe, peaceful place to gather.

Property owner Joe Narens said he felt like Jacob wrestling with the angel (Genesis 32:25) about spending the money it would cost to bring in fresh city water. After wrestling with it in prayer Joe said he heard Christ speak to his heart saying, "Joseph Michael, did you love me? Joe said, yes, Lord you know that I love You. Then, tend My sheep."
Joe said, "The Camp was founded on one rule and one rule only... all who stay, in tents at the Jesus Camp, "Must" get along... My goal is to encourage Peace... my prayer is that the Peace of Christ may find it's way into each ones heart... for Christ is the only true source of Peace and Happiness, Christ has the Saving power to change a person life... it all starts with Peaceful Prayer."
