The Texarkana Texas Police are looking for a bat wielding armed robber. Authorities were called last night to the 1600 Block of Spruce Street. The victim says he was attacked by the suspect who is described as a short black male who appeared to be in his mid 20s. The suspect was said to be wearing  blue jeans and a blue and pink long-sleeved sweater and a brown and white hat.

A witness was also struck with the bat. The suspect was last spotted in the vicinity of West 17th Street and Texas Boulevard. The Miller County Arkansas County Judge has lifted the outdoor burn ban due to the recent rainfall. However the Judge warns conditions are not optimal for outside burning and please use extreme caution and not burn during high winds.

After the record summertime heat many are enjoying the cooler weather. Do not put Arkansas Cotton Farmers into list. Cotton Farmers say they need warm days and overnight lows of at least 65 degrees for their crops to thrive.

The Texas Rangers begin a series tonight in Oakland against the A's. The Rangers begin play five games ahead of the second place LA Angels in the American League West with less than two weeks to go in the regular season.
