Good Thursday, Here are some stories making headlines today:
The Texarkana Texas Police have been busy the past 24 hours. First officers were called to the 700 Block of Martine Street around 6:15 yesterday evening in reference to an assault and robbery. Authorities found the 56 year old victim who had been assaulted by two male suspects and had his vehicle stolen.
Police say the car taken was a 2008, 4-door white Nissan Sentra, with the Texas license plate CP2J805. If you have any information on this crime you are encouraged to call Texas-side police detectives at (903) 798-3170 or Texarkana Area Crimestoppers at (903) 793-stop.
Later officers were callled to the 3300 block of Austin Street in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival authorities found 31 year old Brian Cornelius suffering from a single shotgun wound to his lower abdomen. Cornelius was taken to a local hospital where he later died. His body has been sent to Dallas for an autopsy. The investigation is in its early stages.
The Texas Rangers will be hosting the Tampa Bay Rays Friday afternoon in Arlington in Game 1 of the American League Playoffs. The Rangers finished the regular season with the 2nd best record in the AL behind only the New York Yankees. The Yanks will host the Detroit Tigers in the playoffs tommorrow night.
