J.W.’s News Update: Thursday June 30, 2011

Good Thursday, Here are some stories making headlines today:

The Arkansas Highway Department along with the city of Texarkana, Arkansas and the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce held a public discussion informational hearing on Interstate 49 today.

Participants were given a birds eye view of construction in Northwest Louisiana by helicopter courtesy of Don Ruggles. Meanwhile Scott Bennett with the Highway Department says construction of Interstate 49 from Doddridge to the Louisiana Line should be complete by 2015 with Louisiana matching it from the south.

Also the extension of Loop 245 to Highway 71 north of Texarkana should be finished by mid 2013 or earlier.
