Texarkana College will host the Bulldog Boot Camp for first time students this summer in preparation for the fall semester of 2011. The new required student orientation, scheduled throughout the summer, will prepare students for the college experience by presenting occupational and career information, reviewing rules and procedures, sharing tips for college success, and famiarizing students with the new campus.

Dates for the boot camp range from July 12th to August 23rd. These are morning, midday, and evening sessions.

Crews continue to clean up the mess from a train derailment in Little River County Arkansas. The derailment between Ashdown and Ogden apparently caused by a broken rail, fortunately no injuries occurred but rail cars and coal were strewn over the area.

Casey Anthony, the Florida mother who was acquitted of murdering her two year old daughter Caylee, was sentenced today. The judge gave her the maximum four years for the counts of lying to investigators, but with time served and good jail behavior she will be freed next Wednesday July 13th.

The Labor talks between NFL owners and players continue today, just one month from the scheduled first exhibition game slated for August 7th in Canton Ohio.
