Good Thursday, Here are some stories making headlines today:
The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department says a death investigation has come to a close. Authorities say autopsy results on a body found earlier this week indicate death was by suicide. The 60 year old was found in a undeveloped, wooded area off of the 5100 block of Crossroads Parkway.
More people applied for unemployment benefits last week evidence that layoffs are rising and the job market is weak. The Labor Department says applications for unemployment benefits rose by 10,000 to a seasonally adjusted 418,000. Applications have topped 400,000 for 15 straight weeks, a sign of sluggish hiring. Consumers have pulled back on spending this year because of high unemployment, stagnant wages, and high gasoline prices. These factors have slowed the economic recovery.
The Texas Rangers 12 game winning streak came to an end last night in Anaheim. The LA Angels beat the Rangers by a score of 9-8.
