The Texarkana Arkansas City Board of Directors meets tonight beginning at 6pm at City Hall. The board will begin with a discussion of the 2011 Mid Year Budget, followed by the regular meeting where they will question TexAmericas Executive Director/CEO William Cork, regarding the update of TexAmerica's plan for the Red River Army Depot Area. The public is invited to attend the open portion of tonights meeting.

A conservative group linked to Republican strategist Karl Rove is launching an ad campaign that tragets 4th District South Arkansas Congressman Mike Ross. Ross is one of 10 vulnerable House Democrats who are up for re-election in 2012. The TV ads begin airing today.

The number of counties with outdoor burn bans has reached a record 246 in Texas as drought conditions linger in the Lone Star State. The Texas Forest Service says the previous record was set in the Winter and Spring of 2006 with 221 counties under a burn ban.
