The Texarkana USA Chamber of Commerce will hold an invitation-only celebration dinner in honor of the incoming Commander LTC Anthony A. Stoeger and the outgoing Commander LTC Milton G. Kelly.The dinner will be held Thursday, June 11, at the Texarkana College Truman Arnold Center, 2500 N. Robison Rd, Texarkana, Texas. The dinner will be from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Dinner is $30 per person. Reservations may be made by contacting the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce at 903-792-7191.

About Commander LTC Anthony A. Stoeger

LTC Anthony A. Stoeger was born in Two Rivers, WI. He received his commission as a Lieutenant in the Ordnance Corps from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater with a BBA in Management. His military education includes the Ordnance Officer Basic Course, Combined Logistics Captains Career Course, U.S. Army Combined Staff Officers Course and the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College.

LTC Stoeger’s initial assignment was with the 4th Forward Support Battalion (FSB), 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas (1996-2001) While assigned to the Army’s first digitized FSB he held the following positions: Class IX Officer, Supply and Transportation Platoon Leader, Shop Officer and Engineer Support Element Commander with D Company (Base Support Company) 4th FSB; Maintenance Platoon Leader/Battalion Maintenance Officer and Company Support Operations Officer for A Company (Forward Support Company), 4th FSB.

Following graduation from the Combined Logistics Captain Career Course in May of 2002, LTC Stoeger was assigned as the Battalion S4 for the 19th Support Center in Wiesbaden, Germany. He deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in March 2003 with the 3rd Corps Support Command (COSCOM) and assumed command of the Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 18th Corps Support Battalion (CSB) in July.

After returning from Iraq in January 2004, LTC Stoeger commanded for another 17 months and then became the Battalion S2/3. As the unit prepared to deploy again, he was handpicked to be the Battalion Rear Detachment Commander from 2005-2006. After graduating from the Command and General Staff College in 2007, LTC Stoeger was assigned to the 10th Sustainment Brigade, 10th Mountain Division as a Maintenance Management Officer. In that same year he became the Battalion S3 for the 210th Brigade Support Battalion (BSB), 2nd Brigade Combat Team. In 2009, LTC Stoeger deployed to Iraq with the 210th BSB as the S3 and became the Support Operations Officer while deployed.

In 2011, LTC Stoeger was assigned to Operations Group at the National Training Center. After 12 months as the Support Operations Officer Observer, Coach/Trainer (OC/T), he became the Battalion Executive Officer OC/T. The last two years he has been the Brigade Executive Officer for the 916th Support Brigade.

LTC Stoeger’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2 OLC), Army Accommodation Medal (2 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (OLC), National Defense Service Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Military Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal and the Army Parachutist Badge. He has also been presented with the Ordnance Order of Samuel Sharpe.

LTC Stoeger is married to the former Jennifer Maupin of Plano, Illinois and they have two sons, Tyler (14) and Zachary (10).

United States Army Lt. Col. Milton G. Kelly assumed command of Defense Logistics Agency Distribution Red River, Texas, on July 11, 2013.

Kelly is a native of Orlando, FL., and initially enlisted in the Army in February 1987, where he was subsequently assigned duty in South Korea. He completed four years of active duty as a Sergeant, which included a deployment to Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm.

In 1991, he returned to college at the University of Central Florida, and in 1995, graduated as a Distinguished Military Graduate with his Bachelor’s degree and a commission in the Armor Corps, Branch Detailed Ordnance.

In 1995, Kelly was assigned to the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Carson, Colo., where he served as a tank platoon leader, regimental maintenance officer, and later Supply Support Activity platoon leader.

Upon graduation from the Combined Logistics Officer Captain’s Career Course in April 2000, he was assigned to the 1st Armored Division, Division Support Command in Friedberg, Germany, where he served as the 501st Forward Support Battalion materiel officer and deployed to Kosovo. Following deployment, he took command of Bravo Company, 501st Forward Support Battalion and then after a successful command, served as the Support Operations officer, where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

In November 2003, Kelly was assigned to the Army Ordnance Center and Schools at Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Md., as an instructor/writer. Upon graduation from Command and General Staff College in 2007, he was assigned to the 2ID Infantry Division, 302D Brigade Support Battalion, Camp Casey, South Korea and served as the executive officer, support operations officer and later the Brigade S4, First Heavy Brigade Combat Team, Camp Hovey, South Korea. In 2010, he took over as the BSB Support Operations observer coach/trainer for Operations Group (Gold Miners) and later served as the executive officer, 916th Sustainment Brigade at the National Training Center, Fort Irwin, Calif.

Kelly’s awards and decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, Army Commendation Medal with two oak leaf clusters, Army Achievement Medal with six oak leaf clusters, Presidential Unit Citation Award, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal (Bronze Star), Southwest Asia Medal (two Bronze Stars), Kosovo Campaign Medal, Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Korean Defense Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Ribbon (three), NATO Kosovo Medal, Kuwait Liberation of Kuwait Medal, Saudi Arabia Medal for Liberation of Kuwait, and the Parachutist Badge. He is also a recipient of the Order of Samuel Sharpe.

His military education includes the Armor Officer Basic Course, Ordnance Officer Transition Course, Combined Logistics Captain’s Career Course, Combined Arms and Services Staff School, Support Operations Course, Command and General Staff College, Certified as a Demonstrated Master Logistician from the Army Logistics University, and the U.S. Army Airborne School. He holds a Master’s degree in Education from Colorado Christian University and a Master’s degree in Management and Leadership from Webster University.

LTC Kelly is married to the former Romona A. Floyd of Cocoa, FL and they have two adult children and two grandchildren.
