Inmate Escapes Holding Cell Only to Get Caught in Courtroom[VIDEO]

YouTube

The Shawshank Redemption it wasn’t. A Kentucky prison inmate who tried to make a run for it Monday had his flight to freedom cut short when he ran through a door and into a bailiff-filled courtroom.

WHAS-TV reports an inmate ID’d as Christopher [BUH-CAN-SIS] shoved a deputy aside and ran past him when the officer unlocked the cell door. However, the inmate only made it about 20 feet when he burst into the courtroom and was tackled by court officers. The whole incident was caught on courtroom video.

It’s unknown why the suspect was initially charged with, but he can now add assault and attempted escape to his rap sheet.
