We are always looking for ways to get the job of cleaning done and save time and money. These tricks will definitely help you around your house.

I found a bunch of great house cleaning tricks on Bored Penguin, and unless you know the right techniques, certain cleaning tasks can take a long time, get super messy and probably not work so well. For instance, instead of dusting ceiling fans and having the dust fall in your face, use an old pillow case and wrap it around the fan blade then wipe outward and the dust falls into the pillow case. Ingenious!

If your garbage disposal stinks, mix ice and lemons and run the disposal to give it a fresh smell and scrub off the blades without having to even touch them.

For microfiber couches, use a sponge and a brush with rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle. Spray and wipe, then scrub with the brush to fluff it up.

Got gunky kitchen cabinets? Mix one part vegetable oil and two parts baking soda together. Spray and scrub with a brush to get the yuck off.

For those nasty burn stains on your baking pans use baking soda and a splash of peroxide. Mix it into a pasty solution, slather it onto the stained area and leave it for a couple of hours. Wipe it off then run hot water over it to get all of the residue off. will clear them right up. Mix into a paste and let sit for two hours. They’ll come out shiny as ever.

Got a disgusting microwave? Put some lemon juice and vinegar in a small bowl and turn it on for 30 seconds. You should be able to wipe the gunk right off.

I have never been able to clean a cast iron skillet so they just pile up in my cabinet. Here is a cleaning truck to try: A potato and a little salt can clean those pans up just right.

Many of these I have never tried but I will now use them with this new found knowledge.
