The annual Good Grief Day for children ages 7-15 is scheduled for June 20, 2014, at the Texas Regional Office, 803 Spruce St., Texarkana, Texas.

The complimentary program focuses on supporting children who have experienced a loss due to: Death, divorce, a move, a parent deployed in the military or a parent being incarcerated.

The four-hour program provides activities that help attendees learn to express grief in healthy ways, and includes a Pet Therapy petting zoo and Art Therapy. Attendees will also create a memory square which they can take home and frame, if desired. The day ends with children writing a message to the person they have lost, attaching the note to a balloon and releasing them as a group.

Special Thanks to the Partners who support this day and/or The Good Grief Club which is held in schools: United Way of Hempstead County, the Texarkana Area Community Foundation, the Kiwanis Club of Texarkana Foundation and The Junior League of Texarkana.
