Finding a baby bird out of its nest is a very common occurrence. Sometimes it is best to leave the bird where it is, other times it is necessary to move the baby for safety and survival reasons. In the video below our local wildlife rescue expert, Lori Anderson, explains step-by-step what you should do if you find a baby bird on the ground.

Anderson operates a licensed wildlife rescue in Texarkana. She has a state and federal license to rescue wildlife, specifically birds, so she really knows her stuff. I asked her what the options are when a baby bird is found out of its nest. She has great advice and I learned a lot about how a baby bird leaves it nest and learns to fly.

If you find an injured or orphaned wildlife, you can take it to Rankin Veterinary Clinic in Nash, Texas and she will pick the animal up from there after the vet has had a chance to examine it.
