Harvest Texarkana’s annual Wine and Jazz Gala is set for April 15 at the Silvermoon on Broad in Texarkana. Enjoy fine wine, food and music while helping out a great cause.

On a Friday after a long week and especially on tax day deadline, a fun evening is definitely a good idea. Be sure to put this event on your calendar.

Gourmet food paired with fine wine and great entertainment by Candace Taylor and Trio at the historic Silvermoon on Broad will make for a wonderful night. Silvermoon is located on Broad Street in Texarkana. The event is Friday, April 15 at 7PM.

The perfect wines will be paired with each gourmet dish prepared by Richard Carney, Texarkana Country Club, Janet Bolls, Smallcakes, Jeff Loving, Twisted Fork, and Jennifer Tanner, Julie’s Deli & Market. In addition to live music from Candace Taylor and Trio, the evening will feature a silent auction. Adding to the fun will be the Wine Pull in which guests will have the chance to win a $20-$100+ bottle of wine with each $20 donation.

Reservations are $75 in advance or $85 at the door.  Reservations can be made by calling Harvest Texarkana at 870-774-1398 or visiting the office at 3120 East 19th Street, Texarkana, Ark. All proceeds benefit the hunger relief programs of Harvest Regional Food Bank.

Harvest Texarkana Regional Food Bank is the food bank serving Bowie County, Texas as well as the southwestern corner of Arkansas including Miller, Lafayette, Hempstead, Little River, Sevier, Howard, Pike, Nevada and Columbia Counties. As a Feeding America and Arkansas Hunger Relief Alliance member, its mission is to eliminate hunger in this region through food distribution and education. Formed in 1989 as a food rescue organization, Harvest Texarkana has grown to a full-service food bank distribution center providing more than 2.2 million pounds of food in 2014 to 100 partner hunger relief agencies.

Harvest Texarkana continues to serve as a food rescue operation, collecting excess prepared foods for local shelters and soup kitchens. Harvest Texarkana also operates a backpack program serving 22 campuses in 10 school districts as well as providing resources to agencies to operate backpack programs in the districts outside Texarkana.  More information can be found at their website or follow them on Facebook.
