It’s getting progressively more difficult to find anything of value to say when Ron Howard teases his behind-the-scenes photos from the Han Solo set. On the one hand, we get it, Opie, you’re deeply immersed in the Star Wars universe and doing all kinds of cool [expletive] and we’re not. On the other hand, though, we’ve reached a point where our collective interest in little tidbits is starting to wane. Let me put it to you like this: I love a good tapas restaurant as much as the next guy, right? But sometimes you just want the full three-course meal.

In his latest bit of social media teasing (via Heroic Hollywood), Howard shared the following photo, which he described as capturing “desperate and dangerous times” in the Star Wars galaxy. No idea what planet or characters are represented in this photo, but hey, who knows? This could honestly be a photo from one of his grandchildren’s birthdays parties and we’d never be the wiser. Here’s the photo:

While this photo leaves behind a lot of unanswered questions, it does address one concern I’ve been secretly holding onto for months: will every movie featuring futuristic technology and an overcranked fog machine inevitably remind me of Blade Runner? The answer is definitely yes. As always, Howard demonstrates an uncanny ability to tease the minutae of his Star Wars film without actually giving away anything of substance; some adventurous production editor would do well to approach Lucasfilm about a coffee table book of Howard’s behind-the-scenes shot from the production, as Star Wars fans would probably eat that up in spades.

Han Solo will star Alden Ehrenreich, Donald Glover, Woody Harrelson, Emilia Clarke, and Phoebe Waller-Bridge. The film is still scheduled to make the jump into theaters on May 25, 2018.
