What is Jesus Camp Texarkana?
Camp Jesus Texarkana is a very small community of individuals that have fallen on hard times and found themselves in need of a place to call home.
Joe Narens owns the property. He didn't create the camp for the people, the people created the need for the camp. There is no government funding, no grants coming from the state, just a man with a big heart and a group of folks that happened to land on his property.
How Can You Help?
Each Sunday Joe takes pizza to the camp. You can sponsor a Sunday lunch. The cost is approximately $30. Click here to send a message to Joe if you would like to help.
What Do They Need at the Camp?
The huge amount of rain in recent weeks has made life a little bit more of a challenge for residents at the camp. Thankfully many folks have donated items to give some relief to the people that call Jesus Camp - Texarkana home.
Visit Jesus Camp Texarkana Facebook page to keep up with the needs at the camp and donate items.
A Sanctuary in the Woods
Some of Texarkana's homeless souls have a safe, peaceful place to gather.
Fresh drinking water is not a luxury, it is a necessity.
Getting fresh city water set up for the camp brought great joy to all that stay at the camp. Now they have power too!
If you would like to help out in any way, please contact Joe Narens through the Jesus Camp Texarkana Facebook page.
