Have you ever felt heartsick over something you couldn't control? St. Jude kids feel that way plenty. Find out how they learn to cope.

There are lots of things in life to get us down. When you visit St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, you might expect to see lots of forlorn or angry faces. But even though the children are sick, they have something powerful that buoys them through. Hope. And most of all, love.

As a future parent, I've often wondered what I'd do if my child became critically ill. After visiting St. Jude, I now know that there is this amazing place that takes care of kids in that condition. There are doctors and nurses who truly care about their patients and their patients' families.

When a child is admitted to the hospital, they are welcomed and assured that they are in the best hands possible. Parents are kept nearby so that the child never feels alone. Other patients with similar illnesses become fast friends to help them through difficult times. And past patients, who are now well, oftentimes come by to give current patients hope and let them know that life will get better.

In fact, St. Jude is such a wonderful place, that when the Make A Wish Foundation contacts patients and ask what they can do for them, some children didn't ask to meet their favorite athlete or entertainer. They didn't ask to go to Disneyland. Instead, they asked to go to St. Jude, because there they find happiness, hope, and love.

Please become a Partner In Hope today, and keep the spirit of hope alive. One day soon, founder Danny Thomas's dream may come true. He wanted no child to ever die in the dawn of life. Together we can take strides to make that happen.
