It's time to recycle in Texarkana, Ark., again this weekend.

Residents can once again take part in this month's Green Texarkana event on the Arkansas side of Texarkana this Saturday, August 13.

Residents have been increasingly taking advantage of Green Texarkana as a way to properly dispose of recyclable material from their home or business. Not only does it help the recyclable  effort but keeps our local landfills from piling up with material that can be re-made.

This program is free and provides recycling for paper, cardboard, plastics and metal cans. Recycling is also available for TVs, computers, printers, cell phones and other electronics.

For safety and efficiency participants are asked to stay in their vehicles at the drop site.

This program is not for hazardous materials like glass, Styrofoam, tires, fluorescent lights or paint, and is not a disposal for commercial waste.

Green Texarkana takes place from 8AM to 1PM this Saturday and every second Saturday of the month at East Third and Hazel Streets.
