The Greater Texarkana Young Professional organization will hold its first non profit fair Thursday, April 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Texarkana College.

Greater Texarkana Young Professionals is a committee of the Texarkana Chamber of Commerce that promotes the retention, education and growth of diverse young professionals in the Texarkana region through professional and social immersion.

As an organization whose mission emphasizes contributing to the growth of the community, Greater Texarkana Young Professionals is inviting all residents to learn about the numerous nonprofit organizations in our area.  The Texarkana community has a diverse group of nonprofits that focus on such issues as domestic violence, animal cruelty, hunger, literacy, and many more.

“The positive impact of nonprofit organizations is indisputably far-reaching and their presence is vital to the Texarkana community,” said Jade Evans, Chair of Greater Texarkana Young Professionals.

Members of Greater Texarkana Young Professionals are interested in actively pursuing philanthropic efforts but need a way to actively engage with all the possible channels in the community. This idea sparked enthusiasm to have the same opportunity available to all residents of the greater Texarkana area.  This opportunity has turned into the first annual “Nonprofit Fair.”

Mallory Grounds, Development Director of Harvest Texarkana Regional Food Bank, said, “This is a wonderful opportunity, not just for the local nonprofits but for the community. Awareness about the local organizations and the services they offer builds a stronger, unified community.”

Admission to the event is free. The fair will take place in the Great Room at Texarkana College's Truman Arnold Student Center at 2500 N. Robison Road, Texarkana, Texas.
