Cory Monteith, who plays Finn Hudson on ‘Glee,’ has checked himself into rehab for substance abuse.

The 30-year-old Canadian actor “has voluntarily admitted himself to a treatment facility for substance addiction,” his rep told the Hollywood Reporter (and other media outlets). “He graciously asks for your respect and privacy as he takes the necessary steps towards recovery.”

Meanwhile, Monteith’s girlfriend Lea Michele — who’s also his onscreen love interest Rachel on the TV musical — issued a statement herself: “I love and support Cory and will stand by him through this. I am grateful and proud he made this decision.”
