Get to Know Texarkana Native, ‘Frankie’ [VIDEO]

This morning I had the chance to interview up and coming artist, Frankie. The neat thing about this interview is that Frankie is from Texarkana and I actually knew her from high school. I am so happy for her international success.  Frankie Marrow is a singer and musician born in Fairbanks, Alaska who was raised in Texarkana, Texas. Thanks to a mother who obtained her Masters Degree at the prestigious Juilliard School of Music, Frankie began her musical journey at the age of four on the violin, cello and piano.

She began singing in church choirs at the age of six, playing the flute at eight and continued her musical pursuits through college. She was named Miss Blanchard, LA in 1993, and landed in the Top 5 of the Miss Louisiana America Pageant that year. She was named Miss Northeast Texas the following year, winning the talent competition with her vocal performance in both of those pageants.

Classically trained, Frankie began her pursuits toward a career in the music business in 2000, modifying her skills toward a pop sound and has enjoyed success in both the jazz and commercial dance genre.

Her first single, "Animal," claimed a No. 1 U.S. Billboard Breakout position for the Hot Dance Club Play Chart in 2011, and claimed a No.12 Spot on the UK Music Week Commercial Club Chart. In 2012, her follow-up single, "All Right," was co-written with hit maker Eddie Chacón of Charles & Eddie fame, and she enjoyed another No. 1 Billboard Breakout position on the same Hot Dance Club Play chart. The single spent eight weeks on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart, topping out at No. 27.

Her latest release, "Forever," was co-written with Grammy nominee Ralphi Rosario, house music pioneer, and veteran hit-maker, Pamela Phillips-Oland. It clinched the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Breakout list for Hot Dance club play in its first week, spent two weeks in the Top 10 of both the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Club Play Chart, and the UK Music Week Commercial Pop Club Chart. Frankie is currently touring and working in the studio completing her Debut album. She resides in Los Angeles, CA.
