I must say we all have a new respect and appreciation for what the set up crew (roadies) goes through on a daily basis. I can understand why so many artists thank their crew on award shows because the show starts with them. You better have some muscle too if you are going to be loading and unloading some pretty heavy equipment. Bobby is approximately three years old. He is a mix between a Rottweiler and a Shepherd. What a super dog! Friendly, sweet and full of playful energy with the ability to settle down quickly. He is willing to learn too.

I saw some great shows here… at a Hank Jr. Show I sipped “shine” from my boot. I was way beyond myself with excitement when I got to be the ring announcer when the Von Erichs wrestled here. (I had gotten a new white shirt for the show at Collins & Williams for $60… got blood all over it… I was pissed.) I saw Kansas there, Chuck Negron, and many others. We even did some Laser Floyd shows there… had a great time with “Darkside of the Rainbow”.

Girls Night Out 2013 took place at Northridge Country Club on Thursday, April 25 and we had a great turnout as we always do. Thanks to all who came out, we hope you had a great time.

The low cost spay, neuter and vaccination clinic is back in Texarkana on Tuesday. Vaccinations are done on a walk-in basis. Spays and neuters must be by appointment. Call for your appointment today at 903-440-4911.

Low cost vaccinations are available as well. Rabies vaccinations are just $7. This is a perfect opportunity to have your pet’s vaccinations up to date. Heart worm prevention is also available for as low as $5, depending on the size of your pet.

The Tuesday clinics are operated by the Animal Protection League from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Tractor Supply parking lot behind Taco Bell, Burger King and Hooters on Stateline Avenue. To schedule your appointment for a spay or neuter call 903-440-4911.

Pricing for Services

The Low-Cost Pet Vaccination Clinic is operated by the Animal Protection League which is based out of Sulphur Springs, Texas.

Vaccinations are available on a walk-in basis as are products for heartworm and flea prevention.

Appointments must be made in advance for spay and neuter services. Dogs over 80 pounds need to visit one of the stationary clinics for spay or neuter.

This clinic is not set up as competition for our vets in Texarkana. It is as a low cost alternative for pet owners who cannot otherwise afford the services.

This is a great opportunity to get your pets updated on vaccinations. Protecting your pets from diseases is very important as well as preventing them from reproducing over and over. Our local shelters are full from dogs and cats in our neighborhoods that have not been fixed.

If you need heartworm prevention, you will need to provide proof that your pet has tested negative within the past year or pay a reduced fee of $20 to have your pet tested.

Animal Protection League is a non-profit organization that was formed in 1984 in the State of Texas as an animal rescue and adoption agency. In May of 1996, they reorganized and began operating a low cost spay/neuter and vaccination program which is located in Sulpher Springs, Texas. In January of this year, the league was able to purchase a 20′ surgical trailer to allow the clinic to hit the road and visit surrounding communities.

When we went outside and she was a lot of fun. She is super fast too. Her tail curls so cute over her back. Bonita has a very sweet soul. She loves people. Bonita is in a kennel with several other dogs and seems to get along with them just fine.

These pictures were mistakenly given to me when I picked my order up from Wal-mart many, many years ago. It was 1987, as you can tell by the date stamp on the photos. This is back when when you had to take a roll of film to a store that had a film drop off box and then wait several days to get your photos.

Last night the annual Texarkana Razorback Club Dinner was held at the Elks Lodge on Garland Street. The crowd was full of fans dressed in red and white. We enjoyed a fabulous dinner from Big Jakes and the speakers were informative as well as very entertaining. We were surprised to learn that Coach Bielema is quite the auctioneer. Arkansas Razorback Athletic Director Jeff Long was also in attendance. It was a treat as I heard the coach and director are rarely at the same event.

There was a silent auction as well. My husband was very excited to claim his prize early. He got in on an “Everyone Wins” bid. He placed the first bid and won the item, then every bid after his also won a duplicate item.

It was a very enjoyable evening that seemed to fly by as soon as speakers began.

Diesel is a sable colored Shar-Pei mix. At less than one year old he is approximately 45 pounds. Once he fills out he should be around 55-60 pounds. Diesel is lovable, sweet and has a calm-nature. He is a dog that loves to cuddle.

Diesel is already neutered and up to date on vaccinations so his adoption fee will be only $40. He is a great guard. He has spent a little time in the house with no accidents. Gets along well with little dogs, not so much with the big ones though.

Diesel walks good on a leash. He likes to play with water too. He likes to play fetch–he is still learning to bring it back to you so it can be thrown again. He was picked up as a stray in the Pleasant Grove area. No one claimed Diesel so the people that found him took care of getting him fixed and vaccinated. He is now at the shelter waiting for someone to fall in love and adopt him.

Yesterday was National Siblings Day. I was too busy to put this blog together and decided today that I wanted to do it anyway. Going through all of my online family photos in preparation of this blog has been very enjoyable. It also has reminded me of all the fun that I have had with my brothers and sisters.

I have two brothers and two sisters. We were a family of six children but we lost my oldest brother to the ocean many years ago. We are now stretched from the West Coast to the East Coast. It was hard to find very many photos with all of us in it.

Looking at all of my family photos makes the miles seem a lot shorter. These photos are old and fairly new. It is time to make new ones!

Most of the damage seems to be from straight line winds, and hail, but I am no weathermatician.

Sparky is a less than 1 year old very smart German shepherd mix pup. He walks well on a leash and enjoys playing with people. He will play fetch with a ball and bring it right back to you. He seems eager to learn new games.

Sparky’s colors are stunning. His personality would fit into any family that is looking for a wonderful companion and play buddy. He would need some work before you introduce him to any smaller dog buddies because he plays a rough for the little dogs.
