Funeral services are today for Texarkana Texas Police Officer William Sprague who died in the line of duty last weekend.Services will be held at 10 a.m. at First Baptist Church on Moores Lane on the Texas Side. Officer Sprague died after being struck by a vehicle after responding to a disturbance call at Grady Wallace Park in Liberty-Eylau. A suspect has since been arrested and faces various charges that may be upgraded following the officer's death.

Texas Side Police are advising motorists to be aware that traffic will be quite congested around Summerhill Road and Interstate 30 around or shortly before the noon hour today as the funeral procession leaves the church and heads to Malvern Arkansas where Sprague will be laid to rest.

The family has requested that in lieu of flowers that contributions in Spragues name be made to the American Diabetes Association headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia. You can also make donations to the family at any Red River Federal Credit Union Location or the Morris Sheppard Federal Credit Union in the name of Stephanie Sprague.

Mayors of both sides of town have requested that flags be flown at half-staff in honor of Officer Sprague through Wednesday.
