A 16 year-old female foreign exchange student has been removed from a home by Texarkana, Ark., Police Department where a level 4 sex offender resided.

At approximately 3PM yesterday, October 15, detectives assisted with the removal of the student who had been living in the home of sex offender Ronald Eitel. Police say the student had resided with Eitel since early August 2015. TAPD learned that Eitel’s wife, who reportedly applied for the exchange program using another name, and as a single parent, made application for the exchange student and was accepted for the program following its placement protocol.

According to a press release by police, both agencies simultaneously learned of Eitel residing in the home with the parent and exchange student just prior to removal of the student. The placement agency is working with police.

Police are currently investigating any possible state or federal criminal charges that either Eitel or his wife may have committed.

Earlier in the day yesterday, TAPD sent out a release to the media to inform all residents that a Level 4 Sex Offender had recently moved to Texarkana, Ark.
