Finding the Best Fried Chicken Gizzards in Texarkana
Gizzards were always the thing I picked out of the dressing gravy at Thanksgiving dinner. Little did I know these tasty treats can be fried to perfection and have become one of my favorite lunch time finger foods. Here are my suggestions of where to find the best fried chicken gizzards in Texarkana in the order of my favorite to least favorite.
Frying chicken gizzards is not as easy as it sounds. It requires a lot of preparation prior to frying. The excess fat and gristle must be trimmed from each gizzard to make them enjoyable to eat. Many recipes call for boiling the gizzards before frying. The batter must include spices and flour. It sounds like a lot of work to make them so why not just go to one of the best places in Texarkana to get fried chicken gizzards.

Country Store
1300 E 35th St, Texarkana, Ark., 71854The lady who prepares the fried chicken gizzards at this store is an expert. She takes time to trim the gristle and fat, which makes the gizzards easy to pop in your mouth and enjoy without all of the chewiness that usually comes with eating gizzards. You must call ahead and order prior to 11AM.

Chicken Express
1810 Arkansas Blvd, Texarkana, Ark., 71854These gizzards are very large and tender. The batter was good but didn't seem to have a lot of spice. They were too large to eat easily. If they were to cut the gristle in the middle of the gizzards and make them more of a bite size, these would be a super close second for me. Ask for fresh gizzards and they will cook a batch just for your order.

Sam's Southern Eatery
900 Hickory St, Texarkana, Ark., 71854These gizzards were my least favorite. The batter did not have any spice and the gizzards were greasy. As a side dish, they may be okay but not as the main course. It is best to call ahead or you will experience a wait.
