Facebook is thinking about making it 'legal' for pre-teens to sign up, as if that isn't happening already. That means it will be okay for your 10 year old to log into Facebook and be connected to all of the posting that occurs online.

Consumer Reports recently released the results of a survey that indicated at least 5.6 million children using Facebook were younger than age 13 and that is down from 7.5 million in last year's survey. To make matters worse, they found that more than 5 million children ages 10 and under.

The Children's Online Privacy Protection Act of 1998 is supposed to help protect the private information of children under the age of 13 but there are many holes in the wording.
