Internet safety and human trafficking are a real threat in our community. Also, because April is Child Abuse Awareness Month, CASA of Northeast Texas is hosting the Reach Every Child Community Awareness Event.
Texas Juvenile Probation Officer Leah Miller and Intel Analyst Lenore Paladino from Little Rock, Ark. will be our featured speakers.
They will discuss Internet Safety and how the Internet has drastically changed the way children interact in the world and how that fact brings a great deal of inappropriate exposure and risk along with it. Also, the speakers will discuss human trafficking and how it is a modern day form of slavery for the purpose of exploiting children for commercial gain.
