Education Foundation Gives Money to Texarkana Arkansas Teachers
Since its founding in 2005, the Texarkana Arkansas Education Foundation (TAEF) has awarded over $396,000 in grants to the teachers and staff of T.A.S.D. schools to enhance learning for students.Mark Wilson, an Arkansas High School Alumnus, started TAEF in 2004 with a $50,000 contribution as a way to honor his parents, Joe and Camille Wilson, who taught in the district for 20 years.
Wilson gives the foundation $25,000 annually and then matches what the community has raised up to $25,000. Through Wilson’s vision and contributions, TAEF has fostered excellence in the school district by underwriting grants for the arts, sciences, foreign language studies, social studies and special needs students.
