Downtown Youth Theater Summer Workshops

Downtown Youth Theater Summer workshop programs every Saturday from June 15 through July 27 featuring kids drama craft, movie screening and kids drama exercises. They will also have three sessions of adult classes focusing on production, power tools and sewing machines and improvisation.

The DYT is an all-inclusive community theater program. We strive to find a place in our productions for every person that comes to the audition, regardless of past acting experience. We have a place for you!

The Downtown Youth theater was formed in 2006 by Forrest Garrett. The Downtown Youth Theater is an outreach ministry of the Texarkana Parish of the United Methodist Church. “Oliver!” is the Downtown Youth Theater’s fourteenth production.

Auditions for Downtown Youth Theater productions are open to anyone ages 9 and up, and we encourage you to consider becoming a part of the Downtown Youth Theater.
