Many animals are now in need of food, boarding, vet care and new homes after a woman with a terminal illness surrendered them to a local rescue.

A Lizard, snakes, parakeets, fish, and 23 dogs are all now in search of new homes. The owner was in a coma until just recently and is still unable to care for all of the animals that she had living in her house. Jeff Tarpley Rescue, the Texarkana Animal League and other rescues stepped in to take all of the animals and find them new homes. There are daily boarding fees, feeding costs and vet care expenses. There is an adoption event at Petsmart this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. for these pets to find new loving homes. Most of the dogs are small to medium consisting of rat terriers, Jack Russel Terriers, beagle mixes and more.
