Do you pay it forward?

I know we have all heard the term pay it forward, but what is it actually? According to Wikipedia.

"The expression "pay it forward" is used to describe the concept of asking that a good deed be repaid by having it done for others instead."

I has an assignment to write a little story about keeping America beautiful and it kind of grew into this pay it forward story. My son Grant and I had the chance to go golfing last weekend and as always we had a great time. I lost a lot of golf balls and Grant had a chance to see some turtles ,fish, ducks and even a snake and go for a ride in the golf cart.

As we were going to the 8Th hole I noticed a chip bag on the ground and asked Grant to pick it up and put it in the cart. As any 3 year old would do he asked why? I told him that sometimes people just need to do something nice for someone else and that it would be nice for us to make the golf course a little nicer just by picking up someone else's garbage. By the time we finished up our round Grant had picked up a water bottle and some other candy garbage that he found lying around the course.

A friend of mine on Facebook talked about how someone in front of him paid for his coffee in line at Satrbucks. Another friend saw this and she did the same for someone in line at the coffee shop as well. Paying it forward is a nice thing that you can do for someone else and as Mark Twain said "kindness is a language the deaf can hear and the blind can see".
