‘Dixie Bent’ Live Friday Night in Texarkana

The creation of "Dixie Bent"  has been a long process to put the right pieces together and finally in the spring of 2014 those pieces were linked.

With an old school honky tonk sound that has a Jamey Johnson, Waylon Jennings, Hank Williams Jr., Blackberry Smoke, Lynyrd Skynyrd feel with a touch of pure southern rock, "Dixie Bent" gives fans and venues all over one helluva show.

They play Friday night at Fat Jack's in Texarkana.

When lead singer Raymond Welborn is asked where did he get his style his response "Well, I guess I took Waylon Jenning's outlaw sound and put a little a-- behind it".

"Dixie Bent" has a band full of members with very different genres of music. Their drummer Michael "Opie" Harrist who won "East Texas Drummer of the Year" has a solid heavy metal feel to him. Bass player Randee Turner would be your old dance hall style player.

The band boasts not one but two lead guitars with Wayne Wall being a rocker and Michael Sharp being a strong country picker but together give you some of the best twin leads around. The shy boy of the bunch is keyboardist John Watts who gives the band that honky-tonk feel.

And last but not least the lady of the band, Heather Cloninger, has a strong, bluesy voice and also gives the band a twist of being different with her harmonica-playing.
The Dixie Bent motto is: "Too country for rock, too rock for country, just jammin' it somewhere between."
