Dierks Kayak Festival at Horseshoe Bend

Dierks Kayak Festival at Horseshoe Bend Campground just below Dierks Lake beginning on Friday and going all weekend, June 17 to 19. Kayaking, fishing tournament and many other fun events are planned for this three day event.

If you are a beginner kayaker or an expert, this event will be fun no matter what level you are at. Below is the general itinerary layout of the events planned for the weekend. Times are subject to change so be sure to check-in when you arrive.

Friday

• 11AM clinic sign in
• 1PM clinics start
• 7:30PM showing of paddle films

Clinics on Friday include:

• Creekin
• Playboating
• All women's creeking and playboating
• Swift water rescue
• Intro to whitewater kayaking
• Kayak rolling

Saturday

• 10AM signup for Race The Shoe down river race
• 11AM racers meeting
• 11:30AM race starts at the dam
• 1PM HTTD signup
• 2PM HTTD starts
• 4PM Signup for raft and shredder rides
• 5PM the rides begin
• 6:30PM fundraiser for Heroes on the Waters
• 7PM Hunker Down Tournament (this is tug of war but standing on a raft or kayak)
• 7:30PM music by Ryan Saunders

Sunday

• Safe light approx. 6AM to 1PM
• 2PM Weigh in for the bass tournament

The bass tournament that will be centered below the lake at the campground.
