It's flu season and it's been definitely going around our area. But here's something you might not know. Your dog can catch the flu too and there are reports of cats catching it as well.  It's not the same strain of flu that attacks us, but it is a flu virus. To make matters worse, it's very contagious to other dogs. So, how do we keep our sweet pups healthy?

According to a report from USA Today, watch for the usual symptoms of the flu, like coughing, sneezing, runny nose, low energy and loss of appetite.

If they do show any of those signs then it's time to take them to the vet! You also might have to keep him separated from other dogs and cats so the virus doesn't spread.

Believe it or not, but there is also a dog flu vaccine available. Yes, a flu shot for your dog. Call your vet and see if they offer the shot.

Oh, and cat lovers don't think your sweet feline is safe. they can get it from dogs and there have been more reports of this in a few states.
