Dancing With the Stars Celebrity Cast is Revealed [PHOTOS]
The celebs all looked kind of petrified to me as if maybe they are wondering what in the world they have gotten themselves in to. The show’s premiere is set for Monday, September 19. That means they are scrambling to practice, learning new routines, discovering pain in parts of their body they never knew existed.
Are you excited? Do you plan to watch? Who do you think is going to be in the top three?
We find out tomorrow morning who the pros are going to be paired up with for the new season.
Here are the celebrities who dare to attempt to learn to ballroom dance and compete in front of millions:
Nancy Grace – TV legal analysts who said “The Devil is dancing tonight” after Casey Anthony’s acquittal. Defense attorneys fear her for what she can do in swaying public opinion. She is a former prosecuting attorney. Dancing should be very interesting.
Kristin Cavallari – She is the former Hills star who was recently dumped by Chicago Bears QB Jay Cutler. Remember the story we told you about where she was desperate for money since she was not working because she was planning to be a QB wife?
Ricki Lake – Former talk-show host and actress. She has a new talk show coming out next year too. Ricki will turn 43 years of age just two days after the DWTS premiere. She is best known for her starring role as Tracy Turnblad in the original Hairspray and her Ricki Lake talk show although, you may not recognize her since she lost an astonishing 125 pounds in 2007.
Chynna Phillips – She is a singer and an actress. She was part of the group Wilson Phillips. Half-sister to Mackenzi Phillips. She appeared in Some Kind of Wonderful, Caddyshack II, and Say Anything.
Carson Kressley – The fashion expert. I loved him on Queer Eye for the Straight Guy. Now he is on Carson-Nation, a one-hour reality show on Oprah Winfrey’s OWN. In Carson-Nation, Carson travels to small towns throughout the U.S., transforming lives one person at a time.
Hope Solo – U.S. Women’s National Soccer Team goalie. She will definitely turn up the heat for the other stars to dance well.
Elisabetta Canalis – Most recently known as George Clooney’s Italian ex-girlfriend. She is an actress plus, meaning plus she does a lot of other stuff. A movie that you might have seen her in Deuce Bigalow: European Gigalo. She was the lady in the castle.
David Arquette – An actor and producer. He is the estranged hubby to Courteney Cox. I didn’t realize that he helped produce Cougar Town which Courteney Cox is the star of the show.
Rob Kardashian – Over-shadowed by his sisters, it looks like little brother is going to do something without the whole family. I’m sure they will be in the audience cheering him on though. He has a degree in Business Entrepreneurship. He appears on his family’s reality shows, he is a model and a talent manager.
J.R. Martinez – This is our local guy, kind of. He was born in Shreveport, LA. He is an Iraq war veteran, motivational speaker and actor on ABC’s All My Children. In April 2003, he was 19 years old and serving in Iraq for the U.S. Army when the Humvee he was driving hit a landmine. Forty percent of his body had severe burns but that hasn’t stopped him.
Chaz Bono – Formerly known as Chastity Bono, daughter of the famous singing duo Cher and Sonny Bono now transgendered and considered the “Most Unexpected” for the show. Chaz is hoping that people will be open-minded and take the opportunity to learn more about her.
Ron Artest – Professional basketball player and rapper who is currently with the Los Angeles Lakers in the NBA. Artest gained a reputation as one of the league’s premier defenders as he won the NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award in 2004. He was a major participant in the Pacers–Pistons brawl and is known for his sometimes eccentric, outspoken behavior, according to Wikipedia.com
